Marana Community Center

Abacus is the project manager for the Community Center and Aquatic Facility for the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department. We are working with Marana’s Public Works Director and staff to manage the project from design to construction. Our services include advising the Town on project siting, construction methods, procurement of the contractor, overseeing the contracts for design and construction, and providing on-site construction oversight as the Town’s representative.

The architectural design firm is Architekton and Chasse Building Systems is the general contractor. The $40 million facility is scheduled to complete in December 2024. The project is currently in the schematic design phase. 

Designers are currently gathering community input about needs and preferences. The interior spaces under consideration include sport courts, indoor walking/jogging track, weights and cardio, functional training, group exercise, multi-purpose training room, active adult lounge, teen e-sport lounge, and child watch. 

Exterior spaces under consider include amphitheater and performance space, outdoor field activities, relaxation and picnic area, garden space, fitness course, sand sports, and outdoor wellness space.

The aquatics elements for input include competition and recreational pool, lanes and swimming competitions, diving, beach entry and lazy river, play area, splash pad, water slides, and pool shade canopies.
