Abacus provided program management services for the Chamizal, Alameda, and Lomaland Community Center projects in El Paso, TX. All three were delivered using the Construction Manager-at-Risk method.
Abacus worked with Jordan Foster Construction, Inc. to finalize bid-selections with potential sub-contractors and with the design team of Exigo/Marmon Mok to put the finishing touches on the design. The projects opened to the public in 2021.
The project included significant public involvement efforts to garner community input and build interest. Chamizal and Alameda include “Express Library” components. All three libraries allow the public to drop off, pick up, and order books and provide other library resources such as computers.
All three projects are part of the City’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for El Paso.
